In October 2014, Maryann Kaikai, Creative Director of Madam Wokie, joined fellow members of the Sierra Leone Business Hub; an association of female entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone, to visit survivors of the Ebola in Hastings, alongside Dr Kandeh Yumkellah, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All and CEO of the Sustainable Energy for All Initiative; and David Nabarro the United Nations Special Envoy on Ebola. The aim of the visit was to show our solidarity to survivors of Ebola and make a presentation of care necessities.

As we continue the fight for the eradication of Ebola from Sierra Leone and West Africa, I urge everyone to contribute in whatever way the can, regardless of how little you have to offer. Sometimes very little can go a long way in making someone's someones life better.

Dr Kandeh Yumkellah, United Nations Under-Secretary-General.
